Continuing Great School Improvement Work

Welcome to the 2020-2021 School Year.  We are excited about the opportunities and challenges that this year might bring us.  Although it may look a bit different, we know there are some things that will look the same....like good school improvement.  Our goal is to bring you monthly updates on those things as reminders of the work that District and Building Leadership teams should be engaged in.  As always, we're here to help.  If we can be of any assistance, please don't hesitate to drop us an email.  #togetherwe'rebetter

1.  Monitoring & adjusting your Return to Learn plans is critical.  How is the implementation of these plans going?  What have you been successful in implementing?  How do you know?  What can be done differently?  Check out additional resources here

2.  Have all staff engaged in the Health and Safety modules on AEA Learning Online.  Would this be good information to share with other stakeholders?  Paraeducators?  Students?  Parents?  Board?

3.  Taking care of ourselves and each other is going to be critical.  Don't forget the great modules and resources embedded in the SEBH R2L Infographic

4.  The million-dollar question....are we ready to transition to a hybrid or continuous learning environment if and when needed?  Check out great supports for this, here (see last bulleted point)

5.  We know the concept of Accelerating Learning is high on everyone's priority list.  Here are resources to help.

6.  We have had several questions regarding FAST & Panorama/Student Success.  This document has the most recent guidance regarding  Screening, Intervention, Progress Monitoring 101

7.  The Keystone TLC team will be meeting soon to release 2020-2021 Professional Learning opportunities for Instructional Coaches & Teacher Leaders.  Stay Tuned!

8.  Don't forget about the awesome resources available through the Grow Through What You Go Through series.

Oct. 28

We wanted to share this upcoming Teacher Leader workshop opportunity with you. Sarah Brown-Wessling will be presenting Teaching Transparently Continued on Oct. 28, at Keystone AEA in Elkader. We hope you can join us for this great day of learning. Below you will find information about the workshop and how to register.

This one-day learning experience will help teachers and leaders to grow in their teacher leadership roles by refining their purpose and focusing on specific teacher leader skills. Through practice and exploration, teachers and leaders will learn how to use classroom observation to have productive conversations with colleagues, build on their own sense of how to share their practice with others and how to embrace the varied kinds of teacher leadership schools and districts need. Participants can come in teams or individually as we will look at specific teacher leadership roles as well as the whole teacher leadership system. This day will build on the work of our spring 2019 course, but attending last year is not required to attend this year.

To register go to this link, log into your AEA Professional Learning account and click on the register button for course 273607.
