Keystone’s KPEC Conference is BACK!

KPEC 2023 (Keystone's Premier Education Conference) attendees will hear keynote addresses from nationally-recognized speakers, connect with peers, and choose from dozens of breakout sessions. 

This in-person conference will feature hands-on sessions on family & community engagement, leadership, technology, curriculum content, special education, and social-emotional behavioral health. 1 recertification credit will be available. 

  • The early bird conference fee is $139.
  • Registration includes breakfast, lunch, and snacks!  It's a great deal and seating is limited!
  • Recertification credit is available for an additional $85.

UNI Science Education Update Conference


The University of Northern Iowa (UNI) Science Education Update Conference for current and future teachers is scheduled for March 31, 2023 (Friday) on the UNI campus.   The one-day conference focuses on issues and topics related to PreK-12 science and STEM featuring breakout and workshop sessions as well as exhibits and keynote presentations.  Participants will be provided with instructional resources and strategies that can be implemented in the classroom.  The conference is free to participants and includes lunch and snacks throughout the day as well as limited substitute teacher reimbursements for teachers.

Environmental Issues Instruction at Upper Iowa University

This spring we are offering Nourishing Our Soil and Water Through Sustainable Agriculture at the Hampton Inn & Suites in Marshalltown, Iowa, Friday, April 14 (5:00-8:30), Saturday April 15 (8:30-6:30), and Sunday, April 16, 2023 (8:30-2:00). The update session will be a virtual Zoom session on June 6, 2023 (9:00-12:00). This interdisciplinary hands-on workshop spans all levels and content areas, PreK-14.

Registration fee is $275 and includes food, lodging, teaching materials, 2 graduate credits and sub-grants for classroom projects. Some schools cover the registration fee. Iowa's Annual State Physics Competition

The 2023 State Physics Competition is scheduled for Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at the UNI McLeod Center in Cedar Falls.

Iowa STEM Teacher Externships Application is now available!

The Iowa STEM Teacher Externships Program aims to build bridges between Iowa’s workplaces and STEM educators across the state by equipping them to work at local businesses, organizations, and other workplaces alongside knowledgeable and skilled employees during the summer.

Iowa STEM Teacher Externships are full-time, six-week temporary summer positions in local businesses and agencies for secondary teachers of mathematics, science and/or technology. STEM Teachers earn a stipend of up to $5,000 (including two paid professional development days), as well as three graduate credits through the University of Northern Iowa’s Continuing Education program.

STEM Expo at UW-Platteville on April 27, 2023

The Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics Expo at UW-Platteville is where current college students and faculty will share their projects and open their lab spaces and classrooms to the public for interactive demonstrations, exhibits, workshops, and contests. 

Open to students in fifth through twelfth grade, participants will experience science, technology, engineering, and mathematics up close through more than 50 hands-on activities, all designed to provide a glimpse into the exciting world of STEM!

Summer Research Opportunities at Iowa State

Iowa State University is offering the opportunity for teachers to work on cutting-edge research under the supervision of a faculty team. Earn $900/week for the six-week program with a travel stipend as well as on campus housing.
