It's a 2-for-1 combo!

We're combining KPEC (Keystone's Premier Education Conference) and our TSS (Trauma Sensitive Schools) Conference into one for 2019. All In conference attendees will be able to choose from a variety of sessions to improve instruction, student learning, and teacher thinking within the context of a trauma sensitive school. Hands-on sessions will be offered, allowing educators to actually experience and practice. Recertification credit is available.

Fostering resilient learners book

Pete Hall currently serves as a speaker, an author, and a professional development agent for schools and districts around the globe. A former teacher and veteran school principal, Pete is the author of more than a dozen articles on school leadership and five books, including Building Teachers' Capacity for Success (ASCD, 2008), Teach, Reflect, Learn (ASCD, 2015), and The Principal Influence (ASCD, 2015). In addition to his leadership work, Pete passionately advocates for the establishment of trauma-sensitive learning environments, education that addresses the whole child, and the relentless quest for continuous improvement. Kristin Souers is a licensed mental health counselor in the state of Washington. Kristin has a Master of Arts degree in counseling psychology from Gonzaga University and a Bachelor of Science degree from Santa Clara University. She is an assistant director at Washington State University's Child and Family Research Unit (CAFRU) in the CLEAR Trauma Center. Kristin also serves as an adjunct faculty member for the Master of Counseling Psychology Program at Gonzaga University. Kristin is an expert in understanding the impact of trauma on individuals and families and has provided consultation and training on this topic to education and human services systems for more than 20 years.  More about Kristin Souers.

As a leader and speaker, Brewer is considered an inspiration, innovator and motivational by those who have met, watched or listened to him.

Hamish Brewer is an award winning Title 1 Principal. Mr. Brewer is a Nationally Distinguished Principal and has seen his school awarded the Nationally Distinguished Title One School designation.

He has over 20 years of experience serving as a classroom teacher, administrator, international education director and an educational consultant in the United States and abroad. Mr. Brewer is a highly regarded and sought after keynote and conference speaker on key educational topics from school improvements to engaging practices, motivation and best performance practices.

Brewer is high octane in his approach to children, teachers and his community. Hamish Brewer has been nominated for numerous leadership awards for his visionary approach and results in education. Mr. Brewer is currently a principal in Prince William County, one of the largest divisions in the country, helping in best practices and advances in the implementation and use of technology. 
 

Tricia McKale Skyles co-authored Coaching Classroom Management: A Toolkit for Administrators and Coaches with Randy Sprick, Jim Knight, and Wendy Reinke.

In her role as a Safe & Civil Schools consultant, Tricia has provided training in:
