Equipment Repair
Keystone AEA has made arrangements with Central Rivers AEA (Cedar Falls office) to provide repair of instructional equipment for the schools served by Keystone AEA.
Van Pickup
Equipment will be picked up at your school and returned to your school on the Keystone AEA delivery vans.
Forms to Use
Forms to label your equipment for shipment and repair will be provided by Central Rivers AEA. These forms may be found with the contact person in your building or downloaded. A separate form is required for each item. It must be attached to the outside package so it is visible. Forms need to be completed in full. Serial numbers are extremely important to track similar items.
Pack to Protect
Proper packaging is important. Rigid cardbaord boxes are recommended to protect your items while in transit. Securely package any equipment that could be damaged in shipment. Keystone AEA and Central Rivers AEA will not be responsible for damage during shipment.
Type of Equipment
Types of equipment that can be repaired include: VCR's, television sets, radios, tape recorders, video monitors, computers, computer peripherals, overhead projectors, opaque projectors or other types of video, computer, and projection equipment (not typewriters, dictation machines, and other general business equipment).
Who to Call for Repair Questions
When you are not sure if the equipment falls into a category that can be repaired, call 319-273-8230 and the repair people at Central Rivers AEA will answer your questions.
Describe Equipment Problems Accurately
When submitting equipment to Central Rivers AEA for repair, describe the equipment problem as completely as possible. For example, explain what happens that is different than normal operation. Just saying it doesn't work will not help the repair person locate and correct the problem and will cost more in labor charges.
What are the costs?
The cost for repair will be $60 an hour for labor plus parts. Central Rivers AEA will do estimates of costs and bench diagnostics which will be provided at no cost.
How Much Time will the Repair Take?
Ordinarily it will take approximately two and a half weeks for your equipment to be repaired and returned to your school.
Weight Restrictions:
Due to the fact that one person is responsible for transit of equipment we recommend a maximum weight of 50 lbs. Heavy or awkward/irregular shaped items need to be directly delivered to and picked up from Central Rivers AEA.
Billing and Payment:
Billing will be made directly to your school by Central Rivers AEA and payment will be made directly to Central Rivers AEA by your school

Questions about items that have been or are to be repaired should be directed to Central Rivers AEA at the following:
