Keystone Area Education Agency is seeking a qualified Director of District and School Support to join our leadership team beginning July 1, 2026. This position offers an opportunity to work in close partnership with school districts and accredited nonpublic schools to strengthen instructional systems, address achievement gaps, and improve outcomes for all learners through integrated agency services.

The Director of District and School Support plays a key leadership role in advancing agency priorities and supporting improvement efforts across districts and accredited nonpublic schools in the region.

Position Overview

The Director of District and School Support provides strategic, systems-level leadership to purposefully integrate Keystone AEA’s Educational Services and Special Education Services in support of districts and accredited nonpublic schools, improving outcomes for all learners. This role partners closely with district and accredited nonpublic school leadership to identify priorities, close achievement gaps, and strengthen instructional systems through integrated, data-informed services.

The Director ensures agency supports are equitable, responsive, and aligned with district and accredited nonpublic school improvement goals, while leading professional learning, improvement planning, and service design efforts. This position plays a key role in advancing Keystone AEA’s mission through collaboration, innovation, and measurable impact.

Qualifications

  •  Valid Iowa Board of Educational Examiners licensure with a Superintendent/AEA Administrator endorsement required. Superintendent/AEA Administrator experience preferred.
  • Evidence of successful educational leadership experience with demonstrated impact on instructional improvement and student achievement.
  • Strong working knowledge of general education and special education systems, including state and federal requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience leading professional learning, systems improvement, and cross-functional teams.
