Keystone Area Education Agency is seeking qualified Learning Support Specialist candidates for an opening beginning with the next school year. We welcome experienced educators who are passionate about strengthening specially designed instruction and supporting positive outcomes for students with disabilities.
As a Learning Support Specialist at Keystone, you will provide instructional support and consultation to special education staff, partnering with educators, families, and communities to create impactful, inclusive learning environments for students with learning and/or behavioral needs.
Position Overview
Learning Support Specialists collaborate with school and AEA teams to improve instructional practices, integrate evidence-based interventions, and support the full continuum of special education services. This role emphasizes professional collaboration, data-informed decision-making, and continuous improvement in support of diverse learners.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in education
- Current Iowa Master Educator License, or actively pursuing licensure
- Valid Iowa Board of Educational Examiners license
- Demonstrated expertise in one or more content areas that enhance specially designed instruction for students with disabilities
- Experience supporting special education teachers and programs preferred
- Ability to travel to multiple sites within the AEA service area.
