Technology Support Specialist – West Delaware Community School District
Location: West Delaware Community School District, Manchester, IA (serving on-site at assigned school buildings)
Hourly Rate: $25.00 – $35.00 per hour, based on education and experience
Position Type: Full-time, year-round
About the Position
Keystone Area Education Agency is seeking a Technology Support Specialist to serve the West Delaware Community School District. This position plays a vital role in supporting and maintaining technology systems that enhance teaching, learning, and operations within the district.
The successful candidate will assess and support technology needs, providing first-line technical assistance for hardware, software, networking, and related systems. This includes troubleshooting, installation, and maintenance of computer and network equipment, as well as assisting school personnel with technology use and integration.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a sustainable, predictable hardware replacement cycle that ensures all students and staff have reliable, secure, and instruction-ready devices.
- Support agency-wide technology initiatives and goals.
- Collaborate with school technology staff and committees to identify and address technology needs.
- Implement and uphold technology security procedures.
- Engage in cybersecurity emergency planning and best practices to strengthen prevention, response readiness, and continuity of operations.
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot computers, networks, and peripheral equipment.
- Deliver on-site technical support services to assigned school(s), with minimal opportunities for remote work.
- Assist in training school personnel on the effective use of technology resources.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of service and support provided.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in a computer-related field or equivalent experience in technology support.
- Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize, and independently solve problems.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Proficiency with Macintosh, Windows & Chrome OS platforms, networking, and internet systems.
- Networking and scripting experience preferred.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and travel as needed.
